Everything you need to know before you go — brought to you by Travelplan Ski

THE RESORT

Introduction

Panorama is a destination for mountain lovers who want big vertical, deep powder, and a genuine mountain community.

Tucked away in the Purcell Mountains of British Columbia, Panorama Mountain Resort is one of Canada's most rewarding ski destinations — offering the second-largest vertical drop in Canada at 1,300 metres, a staggering 1,203 hectares of terrain, and a compact, pedestrian-friendly village that has barely been discovered by the broader ski world.

Unlike the mega-resorts of Whistler or Banff, Panorama rewards those who seek it out with shorter lift queues, uncrowded runs, and an authentic mountain community atmosphere. With 135 named trails spanning every skill level and legendary powder from the Purcell snowpack, this is a resort where you can actually ski, not just queue.

THE EXPERIENCE

Why Panorama?

Big vertical. Powder snow. Short lift lines. And hot pools at the end of the day. What's not to love?

Canada's Big Vertical Secret

Panorama offers 1,300 metres of vertical drop — the second largest of any ski resort in Canada. This isn't just a number; it means long, sustained runs that genuinely challenge and reward you. The Taynton Bowl, accessed via the Monster X snowcat shuttles, delivers some of the most exhilarating expert terrain in North America.

Uncrowded and Unpretentious

With 1,203 hectares of terrain and a fraction of the visitor numbers of its more famous neighbours, Panorama is the rare resort where you can still find first tracks after a powder dump — even on a weekend.

A Resort for Every Level

From the gentle Discovery Zone where first-timers find their confidence, to the vast intermediate blue runs of the mid-mountain, to the double-black diamond chutes of Taynton Bowl — there's somewhere for everyone in your group.

Hot Pools at Day's End

Après-ski at Panorama includes something most resorts can't offer: the Panorama Springs Hot Pools, a signature outdoor heated pool experience open nightly. Jump from the slopes directly into the warm water under the mountain sky.

The Kootenay Rockies

Located in the Kootenay Rockies region of BC, Panorama sits in a valley surrounded by Purcell Mountain wilderness. This setting adds up to drier, lighter snow — perfect for powder days — and stunning scenery throughout your stay.

For Families

The compact, car-free village makes Panorama incredibly family-friendly. Ski-in/ski-out accommodation, a dedicated kids Discovery Zone, the PanoKids Snow School, and the tube park mean the whole family is catered for from morning to evening.
